Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian is a Canadian-American feminist media critic and public speechwriter. She is the co-founder of Feminist Frequency a website that includes videos and commentary on the representation of women in pop culture. Anita Sarkeesian has been a blogger, journalist and award-winning feminist for more than 10 years. Feminist Frequency an online platform to educate about female roles in the world of pop culture, is operated by Sarkeesian. The challenge of destroying stereotypes regarding women is her primary goals. She also wants to highlight problems like harassing and targeted attacks against women who are online. Sarkeesian, who holds the degree of Master's in Political and Social Thought from York University, is also an extremely sought-after public presenter. She has given speeches at the TEDxWomen festival as well as United Nations Broadband Working Group for Gender. She was a fan of the gender issue and feminist movements since the age of a child. As of 2009, as she was a student at the university level, she launched the website Feminist Frequency.
