Dua Lipa Dua Lipa, an English musician and singer, was born in London on 22 August 1995. She decided to sign to Warner Bros Records in 2014 following her work as a model. She released her self-titled debut album in 2017. The album peaked at third place in the U.K. album chart, and included eight songs, with the most notable being U.K. top ten hit track New Rules and Be the One. I.D.G.A.F. Lipa was awarded the Brit Awards as a British Female solo artist and British breakout act in the year 2018. Her album was certified platinum worldwide. Dua Lipa was born in London on the 22nd of August, 1995 to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. The maternal grandparents of her are Bosnian. Additionally, her ancestors are from the Kosovo town Peja. Lipa's two grandfathers both were historians. Gjin as well as Rina are her siblings. The father of Lipa, who was a musician and lead singer from the Kosovan group Oda has influenced her in a musical way. When she was at home, her father would play his original compositions, along with songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Stereophonics Stereophonics. Lipa began singing around the age of five. At the age of nine years old, she began to sing at her school, the Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa has covered If I Don't Have You as well as Beautiful by Christina Aguilera, both on YouTube. Lipa signed her first record agreement in 2014 with Warner Bros. Records. In August 2015 the debut track of hers New Love came out.
