Lisa Edelstein (born Lisa Edelstein) is an American actor who is best recognized for her role as House in the Fox medical drama House. Growing up with conservative Jews in Wayne, New York City was the place she went to pursue her studies in the theater at Tisch. However, very quickly, she became active in the club scene and made enough noise that she was seen by the media and simultaneously, she became conscious of the devastating effects of AIDS. She then used her background and fame, as well as her own education to write and perform a show called Positive Me. Shortly thereafter she landed a job at MTV as host of Awake in the Wild Side. Once Awake on the Wild Side was no longer running, she started acting in films and television, first with short role. Gradually, her career as an actor was growing.
