Julia Ormond

JuliaOrmond was the daughter of Josephine who was a lab technician and John Ormond (a stockbroker) who lived in Epsom, Surrey. Ormond is the second of five children to her parents. Her early performances in Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady attracted attention. She went on to Cranleigh School and Guildford High School. After one year in art school, she transferred to Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art where she graduated in 1988. Ormond was first seen on British television in the 1989 serial Traffik. The series was centered on the illegal trade in heroin across the world, from the far East up to Europe. Ormond was the heroin addict daughter of the leading character and was also a Home Office minister working to fight heroin imports. This early role won glowing reviews.
